Manager Training

Training Veterinary Practice Managers

We utilize basic, easy to implement management training techniques for managers on-site at YOUR hospital. We have found this approach more effective as we can focus on specific issues concerning you, your manager and your staff.

If you promote a current employee to a management position, we have found that training is most effective when it takes place two to three weeks after the date of promotion. However, recruited and newly hired managers benefit most from training after being on the job for about 90 days, having become familiar with your hospital, staff and identifying problem areas.

In either case, prior to our arrival on-site, we will request an evaluation of your manager by both you and your staff. This evaluation helps pinpoint strengths and weaknesses. We will assist you and your staff in the evaluation process and provide the materials necessary to perform this evaluation. The manager will also do a self-evaluation.

Training consists of three days on-site, working directly with the manager. We will focus on five essential areas of veterinary practice management: financial, human resources, customer service, marketing, and time management. Observation of hospital activities as well as meetings with you and other members of the staff are scheduled as needed.
